My Home Decor Wishlist

Happy Thursday!!

Since we bought our house, it has been a whirlwind of a move! We finally got all of our boxes physically to the new place (baby steps haha) and we've started to SLOWLY unpack. You all know my passion for styling looks (I actually hate the "taking photos" part), but I also LOVE LOVE LOVE home decor. In the past, we haven't had a full home to decorate so I felt like the space to play was super limited. But, we adulted and I am so excited to start sharing my home-centered ideas with you all!

Pinterest has seriously been my best fraaand! I've created all sorts of mood boards and pinned design inspo as we crept closer to finding our forever home. I will say that definitely helped bring my vision to life. It's super easy (especially with home decor) to mix and match too many different patterns and styles. I aimed for a clean, modern, boho look.

With owning a home comes LOTS of expenses, so I thought it would be fun to share my wishlist with you all. Some of these items we've already invested in, some are on our list of things to purchase as we continue to save.

Changing out the light fixtures in our house was the very first thing we did. I really feel like light fixtures make or break the feel of the house. It's amazing what a little chandelier can do to change the mood. We opted to switch out our basic silver light fixtures in the kitchen for these very modern gold ones. We chose two gold globe fixtures above our island and a very modern (and so West Elm) gold chandelier above our kitchen table. The hubby and I invested in a hardy wood table with a bench last year, which fit perfectly in our new space. Below, I listed a few of my favorite kitchen must haves.

For me, rugs are probably one of the harder items in the house to choose. There's so many different types, that it can be extremely overwhelming. We opted for a white and navy blue geometric rectangular rug. We also chose a fun round bohemian rug for the entrance, and a natural straw-looking rug for a little nook in our living room. Below, I linked a bunch of fun rugs. I'm planning to use one of the pink ones for my new blogging room (yaaay)!

For the living room, we opted to keep our grey couch (for now). We plan to purchase a bigger one, but are fine with our old one while we invest in other much needed items. However, we found the most GORGEOUS wood and leather chair from West Elm. It was a bit pricey, but our local location was actually selling an old floor model so we got it 30% off! BUT, it's currently ON SALE! It's one of those timeless staple pieces that I know we'll have forever, so it was definitely worth the investment. Wicker chairs have also become extremely popular this year. I picked up the one you see above from TARGET! YES, I said Target! The price was right, and I love the fun boho vibes. I may move it to my blogging room and replace with a hanging chair, but for now we love it!

Plants have quickly become one of my favorite items to purchase. I think we only had maybe one or two plants (all fake) in our old home. Now, we already have upwards of 10! Ha! I love all of the textures and homey feels they bring. And even better, they also go super well with any color scheme! I've linked some of my favorites below.

If you're into home decor as much as I am, then scrolling through the list of items below is a MUST. Some of my favorites include this gold side table for the living room and woven baskets to house a plant or blankets!

We actually JUST ordered and received our new bedroom set from West Elm and we are OBSESSED! I love the clean white, and wood vibes. I would, however, say that the 5-drawer tall dresser is a little shallow for my taste. We have actually been talking about purchasing the 6-drawer dresser as well for some extra space.

You are going to laugh, but Albert and I have been sleeping on a double bed (yes... a double) since we moved in together. ANDDD we finally decided it's time to upgrade, so we've been eyeing this grey bed and it's next on our list of items to purchase.
