Travel Guide: 4 Activities To Try In Cancun

After several requests for a Cancun activity guide, I’m finally breaking down my top 4 MUST DOs! These are four activities Albie and I LOVED while visiting the gorgeous Cancun, Mexico. All of them felt extremely safe, and provided transportation to and from our hotel (please double check your hotel is included for transportation).

1. Traveler’s Table

Awarded the #1 dinner experience in the Riveria Maya, the Traveler’s Table was unexpectedly one of our favorite activities of the entire trip! After being picked up from our hotel, we were taken straight over to an exclusive Punta Venado beach club… and wowww was it STUNNING! We were immediately greeted by the host with a round of champagne, and then led into the beach club to enjoy the ambiance before we started.

We were then led through a 5-course tasting menu carefully curated by their Master chef, complete with wine pairings for each meal. We were also taught how to make our very own mezcal tequila drink that’s native to the Mayan culture.

The host was hilarious, and it was really cool to learn about the history behind traditional Mayan cuisine. I would definitely recommend this for guests over the age of 21. To learn more, click HERE.

2. ZIP LINE & ATV OUTDOOR ADVENTURE

Albie and I snuck away on the last day of our trip for this activity, and it was SO MUCH FUN! We both love adventure, and this 3-hour zip lining and ATV excursion was worth every penny.

After being picked up from our hotel, we journeyed over to the Yucatan Jungle to explore the trails on an Outlander ATV. We then got geared up for a series of adventure stations. The first is the 20 ft “step up”, where you get to climb onto various sizes of giant tree trunks. Next, we explored one of the most beautiful cenotes near Cancun, rappelling down its steep walls. After climbing out, it was time for the pendulum where you can jump and swing about 50 ft into the air. We then got hooked onto an aquatic zip line that takes you straight into the cenote. We ended the day with a relaxing swim, before ending the tour with a bus ride back to our hotel.

I could not recommend this more! It’s definitely suitable for all ages. For more information, click HERE.

3. Catamaran Sunset Sail

This was one of the first activities we did on our trip. I’m going to preface my review by saying if you get sea sick easily, this one might not be for you.

But if you’re ready for the most beautiful sunset + all you can eat/drink, this is IT! The luxury catamaran was BEAUTIFUL and super clean. As you set sail from the marina, you'll be greeted by a refreshing cocktail, and treated to stunning views of Cancun's coastline. The staff was hilarious, and always made sure we had what we needed. The captain even invited us to sit in the captain’s chair at one point.

If you’re looking for a relaxing evening on the water, this is for you! For more information, click HERE.

4. Cirque du Soleil

If you’re familiar with Cirque du Soleil shows, you know how special they truly are! Mexico’s very first show - JOYA - was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Experience tablecloth dining along with the Cirque du Soleil show - JOYA - at the Vidanta Riviera Maya resort. Allow yourself to be mesmerized by the story of an alchemist and his granddaughter seeking out the secrets of life. The show draws on the heritage and history of Mexico to weave the story, presented in an intimate dinner theater in the jungle of the Riviera Maya.

We all left speechless after watching the gymnasts and acrobats doing their thing on stage. From the music, to the costumes and ambiance, it was STUNNING! For more information, click HERE.
